Glenfiddich Releases 1978 Vintage

Single malt Scotch decided for release through Twitter

The world’s most awarded single malt Scotch whisky, Glenfiddich announced the release of the 1978 vintage release, which is the first release under the stewardship of the company’s recently appointed Malt Master, Brian Kinsman.
It also happens to be the first release selected via Twitter!
Brian along with a global panel of eight influential whisky bloggers and journalists nosed and tasted four single malts and compared tasting notes via Twitter. Their thoughts and impressions on each sample were tweeted and followed live on www.glenfiddichvintagereserve.com.The final decision was taken in favor of cask number 28152 with strength of 50.7% ABV. It will produce 184 70cl cask-strength bottles, which will retail at an RRP of £480.

The panel agrees that the cask has a beautifully balanced nose with the hallmark Glenfiddich single malt pear and fruity character. Summer grass, hints of orange marmalade, green bananas, herbs – thyme and bay leaf – and delicate toffee oak notes shine through. It is velvety smooth to the taste, with rich vanilla oak flavors intriguingly punctuated with a vibrant fruitiness. The addition of a little water accentuates the fruit aspect with distinct citrus and red summer berries notes. Over time, the spicy character comes through without ever dominating.  Its finish is long and rich with the signature fruity distillery character leaving a lasting impression.
Truly, an evening of sophisticated drinks awaits this Scotch.

Goa, Beach, and Luxury Beach Wear

New resort, new beach wear to make your next Goa stay hot and wet

Fashion designer Ratna Jain unveiled her newest beach wear collection at the inauguration of her first hi-end luxury beach resort, Devasthali, in Goa.
The emphasis was on a resort line including beach wear and ultra glam evening outfits. The pool wraps are made in a fabric, which doesn’t go limp when wet. Heavy embellishments take a back seat in favor of light weight comfy garments with vibrant floral appliqués and tonal silver effect.

Built on eight acres of Orchards, Devasthali is just two kms from the airport and 700 meters from the Hollant Beach, nestled in a coconut grove surrounded by hills.  Devasthali offers the very best of Goa, says the vibrant designer.

The beauty of the place is further enhanced by the designer’s creativity who has spent several sleepless nights to create magic on the land. Designed with a Spanish-modern style, the villas and resort have been built into the ecology of the area. Lush tropical forests and flora and fauna of the land have been left untouched. A fresh water spring on the resort gives birth to natural streams that meander through the villas, lotus blooms and tiny fish swim across their length.

Each cottage is handcrafted and the entire upholstery is designed and created by the designer to create a unique experience for the guests. There is a rich Indian feel in her designs, which liven up the interiors and complement the natural exteriors of the place.

The first phase of Devasthali is just been completed with 36 serviced apartments, a river side fine dining, swimming pool, and a couple of bars. With the completion of its second phase, which will have 11 exclusive villas accompanying a seven-star hotel of 125 rooms, Devasthali, would serve as an ideal place for not just a holiday but also a perfect place for Destination Weddings and business conferences apart from leisure vacation.

Swing your body to the velvety Jazz collection of watches and jewelry

Wear your heart on your sleeves, do you? Try Jazz instead.

Piaget’s new Limelight Jazz collection is the new creative collection to define 2010. It has some interesting pieces that will truly captivate your mind, body, and soul. Let’s take a look!

The captivating Piaget Polo Tourbillon watch is in champlevé enamel. It has a central disc, a dial in black enamel fashioned like the grooves on a vinyl record, and a flurry of quavers. Its white gold case in black, fired enamels has the delicate engraving of a jazz player on the back and musical instruments on the sides. Piano, horn, cello, drums, and saxophone follow the rhythm of Calibre 608P — a manually wound movement.

The jewelry pieces are made to caress the skin. Necklaces, earrings, and finger rings in alternate spinels and diamonds in baguette and brilliant cuts make stunning contrasts. Piaget has also introduced two mystery watches that demonstrate the company’s vocation as a watchmaker and jeweler. The brand has developed a unique expertise in the design of timepieces that become astonishing pieces of jewelry. The first watch has a thin onyx disc and a bi-color silhouette on a bracelet dressed in black satin dedicated to jazz. The second watch turns into a precious band when its cover is closed. Entirely sculpted in white gold, it integrates the case and bracelet so completely that you lose track of time. Both play a rhythm of dark gemstones and diamonds to tune the worlds of music, jewelry and watch-making into a perfect harmony.

A dance step, some vocals, and a love caress…enjoy a never-ending love affair with this new Jazz collection!
